Labour Practices

Cue is proud the majority of our garments are made in Australia. We are committed to working with all regulatory bodies to ensure the workers who make our clothes are treated with dignity and respect.

This commitment means maintaining programs and procedures, which seek to assure appropriate working conditions and procedures in factories that produce Cue clothing. To this end, Cue has signed the voluntary National Retailers/Textile Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia (TCFUA) 'Ethical Clothing Code of Conduct' and is held up by the TCFUA as a shining example of a company doing the right thing by its outworkers.

Cue was also one of the first signatories to the government sponsored 'Homeworkers Code of Practice' agreement designed to eliminate exploitation of the workforce. In house we have established a monitoring program, which includes a contract affirming Makers commitment to their workers, and quality controllers who visit subcontractors to ensure that factories making our clothes are complying with all necessary regulations.

"We have to pay our workers well because of the quality we expect from them and we would terminate any of our suppliers instantly if we found them to be acting inappropriately." -
David Kesby, CEO, The Weekend Australian Financial Review, July 17-18, 2004.

Cue takes the responsibility for where our product is being made very seriously and operates through policies that are ethical, responsible and socially aware.
